There is no escape from the war... 1942. While all the forces of the country are thrown into the fight against fascist Germany, in the southern part of Yakutia there are gangs robbing gold mines. The largest of them is the elusive and brutal Popov gang, which collects stolen gold to organize a military coup in the Far East. In their footsteps, a small detachment of the NKVD under the leadership of Senior Lieutenant Karasev is sent through the snow-covered endless taiga.

All the negatives of everyday life and lack of money fall on Nyurgun, the hero simply drowns in a bunch of everyday problems. The main character does not have a truly close person who could lend him a helping hand. On the one hand, Nyurgun gets what he deserves, but in fact he is a good, kind fellow. And he has the most precious thing — his children, who become the salvation for the hero.

The need for love, friendship turns into misfortune for him. Only bright memories of his mother and her dream of returning to his homeland someday gives rise to hope for happiness in Pavel's soul. Their path to success is inextricably linked with the personality of the outstanding coach Dmitry Korkin - a legendary man, a born teacher, innovator and educator. Korkin's name is forever inscribed in the history of the origin and triumphant development of freestyle wrestling in Yakutia.
