Nithya Menen is an Indian film actress and playback singer. She has acted in Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, and Kannada language films, as well as an English film. She won 2Filmfare Awards for the Telugu films Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde and Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju. She once said in an interview that she never wished to become an actress but a journalist, as she was "an idealist", but felt journalism was "not what it used to be". She then decided to become a filmmaker as she could express her ideas "better through films", and enrolled for a course in cinematography at the FTII Pune. During the entrance examination, she met Nandini Reddy, who "brainwashed" and convinced her to take up acting. Vamshidhar Reddy would later turn director and sign Nithya for the lead female role in her first project.

Ajay (Siddharth) comes to Kasi, where his thoughts and ideas on life and death undergo a sea change after he meets a young boy. He relocates to Chennai and stays in a house owned by a couple S V S Murthy (Mouli) and Jayam (Geetha). They treat him as their own son. A do-gooder, Ajay with his jovial nature wins the heart of all those whom he comes across. Vidya (Nithya Menen), a photo journalist meets Ajay and falls for his good nature. Ajay with the help of Vidya even gets street children obtain sponsorship for their education. But things take a turn when Vidya expresses her love to Ajay. He quietly walks off the place and decides to leave Chennai. But a rude accident to Vidya puts the responsibility on Ajay's shoulders to get her back to health. He takes her to USA for a surgery. Meanwhile a flashback reveals that Ajay was a successful doctor in the United States and who led a happy life.

In the slums of Chennai, Karthik, a young engineering student, falls in love with Revathy, his childhood friend. However, their lives are entangled with the dark underbelly of the city, where Karthik's father, Jyothi, a drunkard and drug peddler, has abandoned them. Karthik's friend Vishnu, who owns a mechanic shop, gets embroiled in Jyothi's illegal dealings, leading to a chain of events that puts their lives in danger. As Karthik and Revathy navigate their love amidst the chaos, they must confront the harsh realities of their world, including crime, betrayal, and loss. Ultimately, Karthik must make a choice between his love for Revathy and his need for revenge against his father, who is responsible for the death of his friend Vishnu.

Gowtam works as a reporter for a television channel. He is nursing a heart break after his girlfriend dumped him for another guy. He attends the wedding of his girlfriend where he meets the another girl Nitya dumped by the groom (her boy friend). They hit off well and become instant friends. Nitya stays in Bangalore and Gowtam stays in Hyderabad. They keep bumping in to each other over a period of years. Though both these people like each other, the fate intervenes to separate them at crucial moments. The rest of the story is all about how this couple finally realises that they are made for each other after few years of courtship.
