Thirteen years after the end of the Vietnam War, a family who was tragically affected by the war are forced to emigrate to America.
Four African-American Vietnam veterans return to Vietnam. They are in search of the remains of their fallen squad leader and the promise of buried treasure. These heroes battle forces of humanity and nature while confronted by the lasting ravages of the immorality of the Vietnam War.
The year is 1965 and America is at war with North Vietnam. Commanding the air cavalry is Lt. Col. Hal Moore (Gibson), a born leader committed to his troops. His target: the Ia Drang Valley, called "The Valley of Death." A neurotic fashion designer from New York, who discovers her fiancee working overseas in Vietnam may be having an affair with a Vietnamese supermodel. With jealousy burning and their wedding date on the horizon, she conjures up a scheme to infiltrate the high fashion world of Saigon in order to catch him in the act. But her plan backfires when she befriends the supermodels and discovers there is much more to life than living it through a series of checklists.
