Nestor de Montemar, stage name of Nestor Bezerra da Silva Filho (Rio de Janeiro, March 14, 1933 - Rio de Janeiro, November 21, 1995) was a Brazilian actor and director.

A young woman, raised in the big city, provokes the greed of several fishermen. She falls in love with a black man, challenges social conventions and faces the fury of her former companion, a millionaire "playboy" who had taken her to the village to spend the summer holidays.

A common robber is turned into a killer when he discovers that his sister was sexually assaulted by a policeman. After his act of vengeance, the police force begins a man hunt which corners the man into the building of a district attorney of whom he takes hostage.

The naïve young Renato arrives in Rio de Janeiro from Cachoeiro de Itapemirim with the dream of becoming a doctor. Without knowing anyone, he goes to a nightclub where he is mistaken for a male prostitute by Pedro, a homosexual nurse obsessed with Greta Garbo. That same night the two go to Pedro's apartment and after several arguments, they decide to move in together. Three months later, Renato introduces his girlfriend Gracinha to his friend, who doesn't know it, but Pedro soon realizes she is a prostitute.

While still a child, Lollipop falls in love with her orphaned cousin Silvio, who has been raised as a member of the family by her father, Dr. Arnaldo, a highly respected government official. Years pass, and to Lollipop's dismay, Silvio becomes engaged to her cousin Leticia. During the engagement party, the enraged Lollipop seduces Silvio, and sometime later, she reveals to Leticia that she is pregnant as a result of the encounter.

Singer Laura Monteiro (Montiel) is murdered by her old protector João Fernandes de Oliveira (Giachetti), who has found out her love affair with Assis (Carlos Alberto). After marrying everyday man Zózimo, Engraçadinha, who had been through intense sexual experiences as a teenager, settles to live a quiet and normal life. As the years go by, her teenage daughter's behaviour seems to call back Engraçadinha's own teenage days.

Marcelino, a country bumpkin, comes from the countryside to try his luck in Rio de Janeiro. His uncle Simão, a taxi driver and resident of a favela with Sofia, comes to greet him at the train station. A neighbor, Tereza, takes an interest in the newcomer. At the pier, the criminal Zé receives a package and is pursued by police. Mira Diler performs at the Caverna nightclub. In her dressing room, the criminal Zé is found, injured and without the package. Valentino complains about the police action that is disrupting his "business." Marcelino still hasn't found work; at the same time, he tries unsuccessfully to sell his compositions. He begins helping his uncle as a driver, but puts his own worries first: he goes to the nightclub looking for Mira, but finds himself caught up in Valentino's schemes.

Monica, a naive schoolgirl from a suburb of Rio de Janeiro, meets Virginia, a former neighbor, now living in Copacabana. Influenced by her, she decides to take on a double life: in the morning she is the suburban girl, in the afternoon she attends a brothel in the South Zone. One day she meets Flávio, a friend and eventual lover of Virginia. Flávio falls in love with the purity of Monica and wants to drive away her friends, for considering Virginia a bad company for her beloved.
