And what if rap had been the first and true manifestation of the Grand Paris? Paname, le Grand Paris du rap tells the story of an extraordinary decade, the 2010s, during which the Île-de-France region established itself as one of the main centers of rap music worldwide. From the Sexion d'Assaut to PNL, via l'Entourage, Kaaris, MHD and Fianso, we delve into the roots of this scene, drawing on its diversity, and navigating both sides of the ring road: a look back at ten years that have changed music... or that music has changed.

A middle-class house in the middle of nowhere. A council estate in Sète. A mother and daughter. Two childhood friends. A vanishing. Blackmail. A clash between two worlds.

The story revolves around the characters of Tess and Anatole. Barely of age, but not exactly adults, they still know nothing of love. Anatole sleeps wherever he is able while waiting for a stable job to come along, whereas Tess is about to start preparatory classes in Paris. They first meet in the surroundings of a port in decline, like a symbol of a country that is suffocating but which still has something to say. He has a tent, she has a car: together they will criss-cross the country’s roads and draw out the summer, to ensure they never forget.

This film follows the making of Nekfeu's 3rd album, between Paris, Japan, Greece and the United States.
