Anand grows up in a remand home after his parents are brutally killed by his uncle, Mohan Raj. He soon sets out to avenge the death of his parents and bring the culprit to justice.

The movie was produced by Raghavendra Rajkumar, the younger brother of Shivarajkumar under Nikileshwari Cine Combines. The core plot of the movie was inspired by Eddie Macon's - RUN. The music was composed by Vijay Anand and this was the first Kannada feature film in which AR Rahman worked as a Music Arranger.
