Opening at the funeral mass for Mikel, we flashback to those that played a part in Mikel's life and death; his estranged wife, his traditional Basque mother, a female impersonator and friend to Mikel in his coming out, and even the local priest.

Begoña, a waitress at an elegant club in Bilbao, manages to get shipowner Javier Uriarte to hire her father, Patxi Barrenechea, as captain of the merchant ship Urkia. Begoña meets Esteban, the leader of a gang of ship thieves operating in the estuary, who is also traveling on the Urkia. The voyage turns out to be very different from what they expected, as the ship is transporting weapons to an African country.

Set in the heart of Christmas, the film tells the story of Sergio, a boy who could not finish the year in worse shape. Alex is a young woman who resorts to arms and drug trafficking to support her parents and younger brother in 1990s Basque Country. Alex has her life further complicated by her unrequited love for Javi, a member of her criminal gang.

There is an attack from outer space and a family descends to the basement, not without problems, and an electric saw ends up being the protagonist.

Spain. The Basque Country. Sometime in the 90s. Josu Jon, a young member of a terrorist organization, has suffered an almost complete memory loss after being wounded in a shooting with the Spanish police. As he awaits for his trial, his condition is being treated at the prison hospital. Other inmates belonging to the same organization try to make him remember how brave a "gudari" -a Basque soldier- he is and how he must go back to the armed fight for the independence of their country as soon as he gets out of prison. Meanwhile, Xabier, a college professor who has been death-threatened by the terrorists due to his political views on the Basque situation, is having an affair with Francesca, a young psychologist who happens to end up trying to help Josu Jon recover his memory. A warm feeling of mutual affection grows between her and her patient. At a point, it doesn't seem to be clear whether Josu Jon really wants to recover his memory or rather forget forever who he actually is.

Etienne narrowly earns a living by being a street performer, namely a living statue. Moved to action by his landlord's ultimatum, he must do various jobs during the day to make the rent, but his efforts are unfruitful. Having met a dead end, Etienne has no choice but to accept his fate.
