A documentary about Greek music. Τhe Great Love Songs is series of ten poems by, among others, Sappho, Elytis, Myrtiotissa, Sarantari, and cavafy, put to music by Manos Hadjidakis. In the film, the camera lens illustrates the emotions stirred by the erotic atmosphere of the music. We follow the camera as it wanders through Athens; the nostalgic Athens of yesteryear; the big modern-day city; the Athens of lovers; the Athens of tourists. Our journey through the city is intercut with footage from the studio recordings of the songs, while there also scenes featuring the film crew. The film is a game between image and sound.

A Greek strongman seduces a young tourist and spend the day with her. "Jimmis the Tiger" is a family sportsman, who makes a living by showing off his skills in impromptu "shows" on the streets of Athens. One day a young German woman approaches him and asks his permission to take a series of photographs for a report. A tenderness will develop between them and they will spend a night together in a hotel room. The next morning, Tzimis will find himself accused of seducing the young foreigner to rob her...

A scientist, inventor of the "ray of life", is found murdered. The perpetrators are Arachne and the inventor's former assistant, Mona. However, the two naive servants of the deceased took the blueprints of his invention with them when they left: Kokkovios and Sparos. Arachne and her gang constantly set traps to extract the coveted paper from the two fools.

Minister Andreas Mavrogialouros (Labros Konstadaras) visits the village of his electoral district, Platanias for the inauguration of a maternity hospital. After an accident, he finds his voters' dissatisfaction and the scams of his partners. He, therefore, decides to step down from the government and bring order to his life, starting from his wife and his daughter.

A prostitute (Evdokia) meets a sergeant (Yorgos). They fall in love and get married after a short love affair. Her profession, however, is a barrier for their relationship. They try to stay together and overcome their inner conflicts, but the social environment crushes them.

The brother of escapes and suicides and members of Spiral abduct Olga.
