Life in Gyumri during the Karabakh war is full of hope and disappointment. Men work for their living, women wait for the return of their husbands and sons, efforts are topped by coming victory.

Mariam lives in a remote Armenian village where there are no men. On her birthday, her hopes of having a reunited family are shattered, but she must put aside her own crushed dreams and build up her friend Anush's hopes of an idyllic life as she embarks into motherhood.

Twist is a film about people, who live together for years in a lie hiding their sexual orientation and how this lie destroys everything in one instant.
