Tourists, foreigners and outcasts converge on the streets of Osaka in this sprawling ensemble drama by Japan-based, Malaysia-born filmmaker Lim Kah Wai. His eighth feature explores the lesser-known aspects of the Asian melting pot city through the eyes and experiences of a dozen characters who struggle to find their place in society: among them a Nepali refugee with dreams of opening a restaurant, a Burmese student struggling to make ends meet while working two jobs, and a Taiwanese sex tourist who travels to meet his favorite adult video actress.

One day in Spring, a college student Sayaka visits Shonan with Yui. Sayaka is secretly attracted to Yui, but Yui's best friend Momoko was waiting for them. The three girls started to stay at a holiday villa by the beach. Sayaka's anger and disdain towards Yui intensify as she finds it hard to keep up the pace with Yui and Momoko and there was an uncomfortable feeling among them. At the same time, there was Akihiro who was invited to the same villa to play at a party. While the girls enjoy chatting about Akihiro, he became interested in Sayaka and tries to attract her. Meanwhile, a Korean international student Min Jun cajoles Yona, who came to visit colleges for her study abroad, to come to the villa with him.

Toko was roaming around a forest in the middle of a downpour. She wakes up in a home where four people of both genders reside together. However, there is something unnatural about them. As she is taught how to boil the water for the outdoor drum canister bathtub and how to wash laundry at a mountain stream, Toko slowly adapts to their self-contained way of living including procuring foodstuffs from anywhere. But then, something mysterious begins to occur.
