Mehmet is a married engineer who is never satisfied with his above-average life, while unemployed Ali feels stuck living with his parents. Coincidences bring them together in a playful manner. Almost Entirely a Slight Disaster explores the anxieties faced by the new generation with its humorous and intertwined ways.

An incident occurs at an ordinary Turkish funeral. While throwing soil onto the deceased with a shovel, one of the mourners accidentally drops his phone into the grave. When he realizes he has dropped his phone, he stops the burial and asks to retrieve it. However, one of the mourners says that the grave cannot be reopened due to religious beliefs. With the imam who is conducting the funeral also getting involved, an unusual argument ensues.

Bayram supports his brother as much as he can by working at the textile workshop after school. When his brother is drafted into the army, Bayram is left alone at home with his mother and embarks on a journey into the unknown.

The little girl who is waiting for good news from her pregnant mother who is taken to city for birth and new born baby sister with her grandparents and the neighbours that came to their home, learns that she has to cauterize her own foot for her new born baby sister's health. The feeling of guilt and responsibility that she feels make her start to trying cauterize her own foot. After the lots of tense, fearful moments she gets caught by her grandmother before she managed it. End of the day she gets good news from her sister and mother but she continues sleeping instead of giving this important news to her grandparents.
