Jitka, a librarian, is tasked with replacing an injured seventh-grade teacher at an elementary school. Despite her husband's resistance, she faces marital tensions, a dysfunctional classroom, and disgruntled parents. When a minor dereliction of duty leads to tragedy, she seeks help.

Lada is a little boy who likes to read fiction and has a great imagination. He figures out that his sister Eva's boyfriend is a vampire, and so he and his brother put him through various tests that, in effect, cause Eva and her boyfriend to break up for real.

The guinea pig gets lost in the apartment and Robert, to the amazement of his parents, studies books about animals and is sad that he lost the guinea pig. Imagine the astonishment of his father and his colleagues from the design studio when the father finds the guinea pig in his briefcase...
