Midori Ebina, also known as Midori Shimoshima, was born on February 14, 1953. She is a former Japanese actress and currently serves as the representative director of Office Sakaya. Born in Negishi, Taito Ward, Tokyo, Midori graduated from Kawamura Elementary School, Kawamura Junior High School and High School, and Kawamura Junior College with a degree in English literature. She embarked on a career as an actress. Her father was the first generation rakugo performer Hayashiya Sanpei, and her mother was Kayoko Ebinamai. Her uncle was Kisaburo Nakane, a fishing rod craftsman and the brother of Kayoko. Her younger sister is Yasuyo Ebina, and she has a younger brother, 9th generation Hayashiya Masakura, and 2nd generation Hayashiya Sanpei.
