From the mind of Chris Benchetler comes TGR's latest short film collaboration. Improvisation is the silver thread that weaves this crew together. Just as the Grateful Dead did not fit their music into an established category, this short film finds a cast of some of the world’s best athletes on a spontaneous journey of skiing, snowboarding, surfing, and music, complete with a soundtrack comprised of only Grateful Dead music.

The FIFTY continues...But with a twist. The goal was simple, ride bikes, loaded down with 100 pounds of climbing, skiing and camping equipment, over 1000 miles to ski three of The Fifty Classic Ski Descents of North America. A tiring adventure and a sufferfest of course, but in the context of an ongoing global pandemic, a nation divided by chaos and a populace on the brink, a simple adventure throws the simple act of adventure into question. Why purposely suffer? Why selfishly pursue adventure? Why go into the mountains at all? All questions that a month long adventure begins to throw into your mind. Shaped by Descent follows professional skier, Lexi DuPont, over the course of ten years in Haines, Alaska. For Lexi, skiing has always been a family affair. From her early days in Sun Valley skiing with her mom and sisters, to learning the ropes in Haines from her brother in-law Reggie Crist, skiing is deep in her blood. Through the film we watch Lexi overcome the trials and tribulations that come with skiing in Alaska for ten straight years as she evolves into one of the best female big mountain skiers on the planet.
