Jeremy is on the run to nowhere kicked out of yet another boarding school, he faces the unpleasant prospect of another holiday eternity with his manipulative father and drug numbed mother. While Jeremy wanders the barren factory landscape of Newark, New Jersey, he stumbles unexpectedly into Kara's world; a life laden with dead end factory work and her husband Bruce's relentless abuse. After narrowly escaping Bruce's attempted kidnapping, Kara and Jeremy find uncompromised intimacy.
Having missed several deadlines, and with the studio's attorneys hassling him, screenwriter Elliot Callahan (Tom Gilroy) takes the advice of his agent and rents a beachside house on the island Nantucket to find the peace and quiet he needs to get the creative juices flowing. There he meets the seriously intense Henry Carver (Matthew Dixon), who's written a screenplay he wants Callahan to read. Before long, Callahan suspects that Henry might be a serial killer writing about himself and that his screenplay is worth plagiarizing.
After getting laid-off, a businessman accepts his boss' offer of a week at his gorgeous country estate. On a whim, the businessman asks a casual acquaintance (at whom he frequently waves while en route to work) to join him.
Stranded in a small beach town, a troubled young drifter breaks into a wealthy home and cons her way into the good graces of the family that lives there.
