In 1820, Tyrolean surveyor Josef Naus set off for the Zugspitze region to map the area. "Gipfelsturm" is about the resistance he has to overcome before he can successfully climb the Zugspitze and how he finds the love of his life.

After a life-threatening operation, Hubert and Girwidz try to clear their minds on a mountain hike. At boundary marker 147, they come across two bodies — one on the German side and the other on the Austrian side.
