Malik spends his days trying to get attention from others with empty, boring chats. One day, he catches the attention of one guy with a lie, saying that he's going to the US to study cinema. The news quickly goes around the neighborhood and Malik suddenly becomes everyones’s hope and pride.

Djibril, nicknamed Djib, is a 13 year old black teenager, a rebel of the 90s, who lives with his grandmother in Asnières. He has a strange philosophy that he has posted above his bed: "A black person must never let himself be called the n-word by someone other than a black person, it's the worst insult". He is in love with Joséphine, an "Arab-Gauloise fatou" and decides to offer her a dream vacation.

Somehow, she manages to get hooked to the young prisoner before realizing that he'll be locked up for another three or four decades. She decides that this is much too long to wait to spend time with her sweetheart and decides to learn how to fly a helicopter. Why? So she can fly in and take him out of his prison yard, which is exactly what she does, thrilling romantics all over France and seriously upsetting the authorities.
