"Carmen", one of the most popular operas in the world, in the grandiose setting of the Verona Arena. One of the most successful operas in the world will open the 99th Opera Festival in Verona in the summer of 2022: "Carmen" will transform the famous arena into a Seville full of joy and freedom. With "Carmen" George Bizet created an opera that caused scandal and uproar in 1875 just because of its title heroine. 3sat is showing the opera in a production by Franco Zeffirell with a brilliant cast of stars including Elīna Garanča and Brian Jagde.
