Maria Aliferi (Agios Ioannis, Laconia, May 8, 1950) is a Greek television, theater and film actress and a successful television presenter. She was born as Maria Aliferopoulou in Agios Ioannis, Laconia. She studied at the Athens Law School. After completing her studies, she began her career as an actress. She first appeared in film and television in 1972 and in theater in 1973. She played in many television series and presented some game shows with great success, such as The Squares of the Stars, A Little of Everything, Do What I Do.

This is a two-episode video series, each episode lasting approximately 80 minutes. Two video series were released due to the long total duration. The original music by Danae Evangelou from the opening credits of the 1971 television series is the same music heard in the opening credits of the video series. These two video series were broadcast as a television series by ANT1 under the title "The Unknown War (1990)" when the station began operating, and it was the first Greek television series broadcast by the station. That television series was rerun in 1995 by New Channel.

Maria Valfi is the daughter of wealthy merchant Valfi, who is unjustly accused in a trial for some uncovered checks. The plaintiff's lawyer in the trial is Dimitris Alexiadis, who is an arrogant lawyer. Valfis commits suicide in court and Maria believes that the lawyer is responsible for her father's death. At her father's grave, Maria swears an oath of hatred against the young lawyer. Her revenge begins seven years later, when she gets a job at his office as a trainee lawyer under the name "Maria Valfopoulou." She then manages to marry him.
