As every year, the happy marriage of Luis and Isabel wakes up ready to celebrate her onomastics her and that of her daughter, unaware that the day reserves a tragic twist in the destiny of their lives, because the girl dies in a fatal accident. The impression is so strong that Isabel becomes mad until the point of being confined in a sanatorium. And looking for her health, the doctor forbids Luis to see his wife. He can only get news from her via Emilia, the young nurse who cares for Isabel.

Luis, a tall and strong vagabond, refuses the job offered to him by an old gentleman, which provokes the latter's indignation.
An outspoken boy and a gunfighter-pimp save a drifter's life from hanging. The boy's uncle dies, leaving a house and some dry, useless land to the boy. The dying uncle has obtained the drifter's promise to help the boy get what is his. Meanwhile the gunfighter has decided that the drifter should marry his daughter after being with her previously. The two get into a series of brawls and shoot-outs until they arrive in the town and find the boy's inheritance -which turns out not to be as useless as it first appears.

Noguère comforted the distressed young woman so well that she became her mistress. But Juste had not been killed.
