Pavel Strokov, the head of the meteorological station, who has worked in the mountains of Tajikistan for a quarter of a century, says there is a possibility of a devastating mudslide. But unfortunately, his warnings are not taken seriously.
A young, ambitious and self-confident girl, Zulfiya, is appointed senior assistant at the surgical clinic. She is still an inexperienced doctor, and immediately makes a number of serious mistakes. Realizing the lack of personal professionalism and the limited medical practice, Zulfiya refuses a high position and leaves as an ordinary doctor to the mountainous region of Tajikistan.
The Russian guys - Viktor, Masha, and Zhorik - arrived in distant Dushanbe on Komsomol vouchers. Tajikistan became their second homeland, and in the wonderful people Guliam, Alim, and Aziz, they found like-minded individuals. They had to endure many difficulties. But no matter how hard it was, they did not back down and did not lose faith in their just cause.

A girl from a tiny mountain village with narrow, walled-in streets and steep, slippery paths lost her mother. Her childhood, spent in her aunt's house, was marked by hunger and poverty. When a tax collector from the powerful and cruel Azizkhan (played by G. Niyazov) arrived in the village, her aunt had no money to pay, so she gave up her niece. And they brought Azizkhan a herd of five goats, a couple of calves, and a thin, frail girl named Nissi, who was destined to become a concubine. The girl decided to run away or perish...
