A criminal making plans to pull off one big score before he retires, comes into possession of secret papers worth a fortune, but dies while attempting the hit. His wife takes those papers for herself, while discovering there are rival criminals, a powerful organization and a sleazy blackmailer.

In 1944, in a small village in Calvados, just as the Allies landed, a British plane was shot down. The wounded pilot seeks help. All the villagers, who speak only of resistance, refuse to help, for fear of reprisals. Only the mayor, Dr. Leproux, takes him in and nurses him back to health, then entrusts him to the Resistance. But the Germans get wind of the story and arrest Leproux. He is saved by Major Frantz. But the budding friendship between these two men "doesn't stop the drums", and the war is on.

Léopold, valet de chambre to the avocat général Maître de Royssac, starts studying the penal code and, during his leave, becomes a judge in a "middle" court. His decisions are recognized as final. Léopold falls in love with Agnès, engaged to the two-faced Doctor Ventoux, who becomes "Le chat" when he plays the gangster. Léopold will help "Le chat" pull off the heist of the century, if he remains free to court Agnès. "Le Chat" doesn't play along. A fight breaks out between Léopold's gang and "Le Chat's" gang. The law must prevail.

In 1943, a group of high school students decide to take action against the Nazi occupying forces. Showing courage and imagination, they manage to blow up the Kommandantur and to release hostages. But after the killing of a German soldier the Nazi police apparatus strikes back. The young resisters are arrested and two of them are condemned to death.

1943, Christmas Eve in occupied Brittany. Charles, a member of the Resistance, is parachuted into the house of his mother, Madame Parisot, where he meets Herta, a young German woman who has come to accompany her officer husband. Despite the situation, the two young people fall in love and protect each other, but their love is short-lived, interrupted at dawn by a deadly English bomb.

This is the second feature in a series about an intrepid French spy by the nickname of "The Gorilla," but unlike the earlier films, this time around Roger Hanin replaces Lino Ventura in the title role. A West German scientist has discovered a way to recover missiles shot into space, and the major Western powers are after his secret. Even though the scientist is willing to pass his discovery on to NATO, it is guarded by an elite, undercover West German police force. As foreign agents, including the Russians and Americans, try to get their hands on the secret, "The Gorilla" is forced into the affair by his surly, aging boss -- he has to make sure that the scientist's discovery ends up with NATO.

In France, during the Second World War, journalist Paul Roy is a member of the Resistance, while his colleague and friend Jacques Médina is a collaborator. But it's thanks to Jacques that Paul is able to remain free, as he shelters him in his home after a roundup. The two friends co-wrote various Nazi propaganda articles, which appeared under Jacques' byline. The situation becomes complicated when Paul becomes the lover of Jacques' wife.
