Jaime, who’s been away from the city by his own free will, invites his family to watch an eclipse at his house on the mountains. The tensions in the group are apparent, but they slowly vanish, reaching the most transparent moment among the eclipse’s darkness.

Raquel has been the live-in housekeeper for a kind, reasonably wealthy family for half her life, and the joyless repetition of the job has begun to take its toll. Increasingly dependent on painkillers, Raquel resorts to pranks and childish avoidance to antagonize the family’s college-age daughter and a procession of new servants, all in the hopes of protecting her precarious power within the home. After a long absence, Negro Torres returns to his hometown, in Cunco, to attend his mother's funeral. There, his old cronies propose him to set up a business to buy seafood and then sell them. After improvising the preparations and returning to the town with the seafood, they face a big surprise

The rest is an endless repetition of sneaky and farces, all about denouncing the corruption and superficiality of the television medium

Javier is Spanish and is married to Laura, who is Chilean. They have a six year old son, living in Chile and enjoy a prosperous economic position. The three are, at last, on vacation in Spain, because Laura seems to have overcome a problem of claustrophobia that prevented her from traveling. The family moved to a camp, near the home of Javier's parents. There they meet Ignacio, a handsome young man, a friendly neighbor. But not everything is as nice as it seems at first sight.
