On 31 January 1968, 31 North Korean commandos infiltrated South Korea in a failed mission to assassinate President Park Chung-hee. In revenge, the South Korean military assembled a team of 31 criminals on the island of Silmido to kill Kim Il-sung for a suicide mission to redeem their honor, but was cancelled, leaving them frustrated. It is loosely based on a military uprising in the 1970s.

Dong-seok Cha, a documentary producer, made a documentary about 'Geochang massacre in 1951' for its 60th anniversary, but it is not selected as a broadcasting program for its lack of impact. So, PD Cha is disappointed until he meets Ji-yoon and her grandfather Lee, who was a soldier at the time of 'Geochang massacre in 1951', and has lost his memories by disease. Ji-yoon and Lee come down to Geochang to find a girl in a picture, which Lee has kept for his life. PD Cha thinks that it is a great chance to take impact on the documentary by filming him.

Kang-Il is ice hockey player of K University and he has a lover named Kyeong-Mi. One day, on his way to father's friend chairman Han, he meets Han's only daughter Na-Young. Kang-Il anguishes between ambition and love. Deciding to part with Kyeong-Mi who is already pregnant of his baby, he demands her to abort the baby but she refuses it. Kang-Il goes to the mountain where a lot of good memories were made. In the course of violent quarreling, Kyeong-Mi is killed in a fall because of Kang-Il's violent action. His guilty conscience makes the relationship with Na-Young get worse. When the investigation of the police is narrowed to Kang-Il, he gives vent to his anger in a ice-cream shop and comes to end his life by some terrific accident.

This youth melodrama tells the story of a law student from a small village in Korea, and the irresponsible girl with whom he falls in love. The girl leads a reckless life, working in bars in Itaewon, and in the U.S., while the law student follows her. Their relationship ends in tragedy with the man shooting the woman, and her confessing her true love before dying.

Eun-Kyeong leaves him behind, because she thinks that he has no future. Mi-Na and Kyeong-Ja boycott his estheticism and pursuit of justice. However, Dal-Ho challenges for the pure future and his beloved Eun-Kyeong comes back to him.

Tae-hun, a rugby player and author of children's books, and Mi-hae, an art major, are the most popular couple on campus. When Mi-hae's parents decide to emigrate to the USA, the two lovers declare independence from their support and move in together--a decision they will ultimately lead to disaster.
