A group of unprepared weekend hikers go missing while snowshoeing in the Catskill Mountains.

Lyle, sick of his girlfriend's annoying laugh, wants to end their relationship. Too scared to do it honestly, he enacts a scheme to convince her that they must break up because he is at the center of an epic battle between man, beast and fowl.
