A man cruises the highways of Southern California trying to pick up studs and narrates his adventures to a cassette recorder.

The film, narrated by "LA Plays Itself" director Fred Halstead, begins by looking at the muscle magazines and films of the late 1940s-early 1960s, then at the softcore films of the late 60s and the boundary-pushing and legal-testing which allowed these to evolve into hardcore loops and then features.

Peter sets up in a hotel room with his camera and his notebook to watch the action in an apartment across the way. He gets so involved with a guy doing himself alone that he drops his notebook and picks up something else until they are both finished.
