A former aircraft mechanic wants to start a new life in a small border village after a stint in prison and working in the mines. But things don't work out as he would have liked and bad luck follows him. By an unfortunate coincidence, he even falls under suspicion of double murder...

And that's true. No brave prince, but Princess Máňa will free the innocent Honza from hell and make such order there that the devils will only hate to remember her.

From time to time, we have produced an admirable film about the virtues of the domestic army, which raised the right men in ideal conditions - in this case, we meet the enthusiastic drill sergeants in green, who selflessly rehearse a demanding Spartakiad composition... So, two aspects important to the regime have merged into one. But even this did not change the incredulous, spasmodically optimistic yawn that perhaps even those who had set all this up could not believe. The film uses documentary footage of the soldiers' Spartakiada performance in 1980.

Our heroes are around eighty years old. But the story is not just about good times and friendly banter. Nor is it about the thrilling rescue of an inquisitive boy who is stuck on a rock. There is a detective mystery lurking in it that needs to be solved on the spot. In the end, the culprit reveals himself, but we see that judgment should be made cautiously and with knowledge of all the circumstances.

Soviet engineer Kuznecov is coming to Prague as an expert on work with the tunneling shield in construction of the metro. He is returning after more than thirty years. In May 1945 as a young soldier in the Red Army he was seriously injured in the liberation of Prague and while recovering experienced a great love with a young teacher called Vera.

The film is a metaphor for the Cold War. It depicts two neighbouring nations: peace loving Fortuna and the not so peaceful land of the Steel City.
