Hitoshi Kudo is a journalist who covers various murder cases. One day, his daughter is kidnapped by the frog man. In order to safely rescue her, Kudo is cornered by one unreasonable instruction after another.

Haruka, a young recognized female entrepreneur, was forced to retire from her company due to the abuse of her authority. For her pride, she attempts to sell her family home and starts her new business, despite her two brothers and a sister living and running a small restaurant at the house.

Uchida Mayu is a high school student in a peaceful town near Tokyo. She suffers from violence from her stepfather and plans to run away to her uncle's home in Tokyo. As she is about to board the last bus to Tokyo, a terrible looking old person causes her to miss the bus. She attempts to walk across a ridge. Meanwhile, Mayu's uncle Uchida Kazuki is a freelancer writer. He chases after the hideous monster Yoshie who attacks people. Kazuki receives a phone call that his niece Mayu ran away. He begins a search for her and finds her cellphone on a mountain path. He sees Yoshie's picture on her cellphone.

One day, Tatsumi, a lonely underworld worker, comes across the murder scene of his ex-girlfriend Kyoko. Tatsumi escapes with Kyoko's younger sister, Aoi, who was with her. On the other hand, Aoi, who has lost her beloved family and vows revenge, pursues the murderer of Kyoko. Tatsumi, who is at loggerheads with the impudent Aoi, decides to accompany her on her journey for revenge, and as he cooperates with her, a certain feeling begins to develop.

In the silent mountains, surrounded by beautiful mountains on all sides. A man carrying an urn, Iori Kano, appears in front of Mizuki Takahashi, a beautiful woman staring at the fire of a kiln in a humble workshop. Iori is Mizuki's brother-in-law. He has come to inform Mizuki of the death of her mother, Isuzu Kano. For some reason, Mizuki had abandoned her parents' home and was now living a peaceful life with her husband, ceramic artist Tetsuro Takahashi. Iori's appearance cuts through that peace and brings her back to the dark past. Mizuki has been living her life with her past hidden away, but her guilt for Yasuo, her father-in-row, who she had driven to his death, and her love and hate for Isuzu, who she had never reconciled with, lingered deep in her heart. This sense of guilt over her own deeds eventually condemns Mizuki in the form of the ghost of Isuzu, and finally leads her down the path of destruction.

Yumi (Mai Kiryu), studying design at university, is dating Naoya (Kisetsu Fujiwara), a member of the theatre society, when one day she learns that she's pregnant. She tells Naoya, who dreams of owning his own theatre company in the future. The more they face reality, the more they seem to be at odds with one another...

A member of the high school art club called Sakuko falls into the sea while sketching a boat. Witnessing the incident, Saibara creates a painting titled "Drowning Sakuko" and wins an award at a contest, leading the painting to be displayed at school. Moreover, Saibara takes the liberty of announcing that she will paint Sakuko for her next piece during a newspaper interview. Frustrated by the situation, Sakuko gives up on her artistic path and attempts to create a new work with the motif of a "boat" in her home, which is scheduled for demolition.

After suffering through a long and unsuccessful series of fertility treatments, Satoko and her husband Kiyokazu make the decision to adopt a child. Six years after adopting a boy they named Asato, Satoko has quit her job to concentrate fully on her husband and son. The family lives a peaceful existence until the arrival of a stranger.
