A deep secret from Kim Jin-woo's past is slowly eating away at him and making him act more and more irrationally. He loses his position as a philosophy professor due to his erratic behavior. He and his wife turn to a psychiatrist to get to the root of the problem.
Kang-Il is ice hockey player of K University and he has a lover named Kyeong-Mi. One day, on his way to father's friend chairman Han, he meets Han's only daughter Na-Young. Kang-Il anguishes between ambition and love. Deciding to part with Kyeong-Mi who is already pregnant of his baby, he demands her to abort the baby but she refuses it. Kang-Il goes to the mountain where a lot of good memories were made. In the course of violent quarreling, Kyeong-Mi is killed in a fall because of Kang-Il's violent action. His guilty conscience makes the relationship with Na-Young get worse. When the investigation of the police is narrowed to Kang-Il, he gives vent to his anger in a ice-cream shop and comes to end his life by some terrific accident.

In order to regain business, Ju Byung-wu, the owner, enlists newlyweds by promising them money. As the bridegroom, there is the gangster Kang Eun-dal. The bride is Kwon Young-ja, who has worked in various coffee shops and red district shops. The two get married. As they live past 24 hours, a rush of interviews and bookings flow in. Eun-dal and Young-ja skyrocket into becoming society's stars. However, they realize that their actions are meaningless so they return to the way they were.

Chizuko marries a missionary in charge of an orphanage in the colony of Korea. After the end of the Pacific War, she is compelled to return to Japan but later returns. When the Korean War breaks out, her husband is arrested for espionage.

Director Kim, who had a stroke after making numerous movies, lives in hell for 11 years. He goes to Dilcusha to write a new scenario and sees a miracle after meeting people agreed on participating in his new film.

Hi-won is a news reporter for a magazine. She runs into Min Seung-wu who was once her lover when she was a teacher. Hi-won is attracted by Seung-wu's charm but her parents do not approve of their relationship for his past of misfortune having grown up an orphan. She is proposed to marry Song Yun-sik whom she was fixed up by a matchmaker but that only assures her of her love for Seung-wu. Seung-wu decides to move to France for her sake and for his family, cherishing his memory of the time they spent together on the night of his farewell party. As he heads to the airport, she marries an ordinary man.

A young Korean-American accidently kills someone and spends the next 7 years in prison. When released, she joins up with a middle-aged Korean man looking for his wife and an illegal immigrant on the run. Together they travel to Lake Tahoe and find redemption along the way.
