Vicente's father locks him up in the basement as punishment, just as he has done many times before. But after one night of tragedy, the parents won't be returning home. The child survives miserably in the basement for years, until one day he gets out, filled with hatred and thirst for revenge.
A son who needs to tell his father about his sexual orientation. A father who hopes to see in his son the continued virility he preaches. "Hijo e' Tigre" (Son of the Tiger) is a colloquial expression used by a father when he finds his son a source of pride, discovering that he resembles him, and generally, in the face of an action that makes him resemble the typical "Argentine macho." The film critiques this machismo, still prevalent in our society today.
