Herečka Kateřina Lírová se narodila 17. dubna 1951 v Praze do herecké rodiny. Její tatínek byl známý herec Jiří Lír a maminka herečka Drahomíra Fialková, známá například z role Nely, služebné Viktorie, z Herzova dramatu MORGIANA (1972). Kateřina Lírová v roce 1975 úspěšně absolvovala DAMU a poté nějaký čas účinkovala ve studiu Ypsilon v libereckém Naivním divadle. Co se týče filmu, tak v něm ztvárnila spíše vedlejší role, jako například ve filmu HOLKA NA ZABITÍ (1975) role poštmistrová Jitka, JÁ UŽ BUDU HODNÝ, DĚDEČKU (1978) dcera divadelního herce Bergnera (M.Kopecký), VÍTR V KAPSE (1982) role zdravotní sestřičky nebo TV seriál TŘETÍ PATRO (1985). Kateřina Lírová je také známá z tzv. studiových TV pohádek. Není žádným tajemstvím, že byla provdána za herce O. Havelku - prvorepublikového gentlemana, s nímž má syna Vojtěcha (*1986). Manželství se ovšem rozpadlo, kvůli manželově nevěře. V současné době se Kateřina Lírová živí jako scénáristka klipů a dramaturgyně.

To the intolerant and bloody-minded Prague actor Bergner (Milos Kopecký) is the lead in Moliere's Misanthrope which he is studying now as tailor-made. On top of that he is malicious and he advises to the new actress Helenka (Dagmar Havlová) in such a way that she upsets the theatre director. If Bergner accuses somebody of a mischief and he is wrong, he never apologizes. When he almost crashes an older elegant lady by his car on the zebra crossing, instead of an apology he calls her an old ballet dancer... But in Brno's TV he takes part in a discussion on manners and he gives himself as an example of good manners and grace. In the train he meets a magic old man (Ladislav Pesek) who warns him and admonishes him to change his behavior. After he arrives to Prague the old man's threat comes true.

Kuba and Amálka love each other, but Kuba doesn't want to get married yet, which makes Amálka a little sad. When Kuba learns from her that their pear tree is producing pears with long ears, he immediately gets an idea on how to make money from them. From that moment on, a real mess begins. Amálka does break the spell on the long-eared hunter when she gives him a real kiss, thinking it's Kuba. But then Kuba lets the cuckold princess taste the magic apple. Amálka is angry with Kuba and who knows if she'll help him this time. But - what if the cuckold princess really had Kuba's head cut off, as she threatens, and Amálka would lose her groom?

The film is set in the environment of the internationally renowned Pardubice Steeplechase, with the main roles being devoted to equestrian sport outside of filming.

The main characters of the film, inspired by director Soukup's own experiences at the Škodovka factory in Pilsen, are two inseparable friends who, after graduating from the industrial school, join a large engineering plant. Here they spend their first year of post-graduate life, where their vague ideas and ideals clash with their completely different life experience. In addition to their conflicting work experiences, Ondřej and Cyril have to deal with their own personal problems. They have big plans for the future, but their dreams are unexpectedly interrupted by a tragic event.

Returning to Prague in 1857, he tries to make contact with his former friends. The main one is his former comrade-in-arms Antoš. Of course, the man's steps also lead him to his former love Ida, who has been married to the councillor Mayer for several years. Vinicky is followed at practically every turn by the secret police, who will not allow him to get a decent job, let alone publish his new book. Police Councillor Berger makes it clear to the writer that a lot could be arranged if Vinicky would commit to cooperating...
