Karen is a native New Yorker, hailing from the claypits of "Stat Nylen". She found theater as a dancer with a broken ankle at NYU, and has never turned back. In addition to performing sketch comedy and improv in comedy clubs throughout the city, she has appeared at the Kennedy Center, the McCarter Theater, in many "Off Off Broadway" productions and "Way the Hell Off Broadway in Brooklyn Somewhere". She currently performs regularly with Making Light Theater. Through her work as the diabolical Nurse Charles on One Life to Live, Karen found the magic of acting for television. Film soon followed and she found herself working with major stars.
