Lazy but resourceful storyteller Lapatossu solves problems at the railway construction site with his seemingly simple friend Vinski.

Aarne, the son of Laamanni Horn, who is studying law, falls in love with his father's office assistant Helena, but due to his parents' prejudices, he wants to keep his cross-class relationship a secret. Aarne finds himself presiding over his first court case in conflicting circumstances, as he is assigned to judge Helena.

This man is supposed to take a secret document hidden in a large cabinet in the hall across the border to Moscow, containing information about the hiding place of the prince's family jewels.

Inspired by Olympic fever, the Karamellitehdas candy factory challenges Saron Suklaa to a wooden spoon competition. Factory owner Aukusti mistakenly believes that Lapatossu and Vinski are athletes and hires them for his company's team. The resourceful rogues help the Saron family in every way they can.

An adaptation of Frans Eemil Sillanpää's novel of the same title. Only a fragment of this film survives.
