Production
Justin is an actor, entertainer, assistant director and location manager based in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. He is part of Newfoundland-based Pitcher Plant Productions where he is currently developing some small projects as writer/director/producer. Justin is also a musician, having played keyboard and saxophone with Newfoundland-based progressive rock band Hammingwell as well as keyboard and singing with The Dukes of Doyle, a party cover band that was made up of cast and crew members of Republic of Doyle. Outside of the entertainment industry, Justin has been involved with the planning committee for geek/genre convention Sci-Fi on the Rock since 2006 in various roles, and with another similar event called Avalon Expo since 2015 as Master of Ceremonies and media spokesperson. One of his roles at Sci-Fi on the Rock was the creative director for the Sci-Fi on the Rock International Film Festival, which showcased short films in the Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror genres. After several years of success with that, he expanded the festival into a weekend-long event of its own called the Granite Planet International Film Festival, which was less successful and folded after its first year. Justin loves creating films of any and all types, however his favourite are Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror because of the freedom to create entire universes with their own sets of rules, rather than other genres where a certain level of realistic conformity is required.
