An Australian biopic about the life of pioneering aviator Charles "Smithy" Kingsford-Smith. The film is unusually frank about the controversies that occasionally dogged him. PG Taylor and Billy Hughes both make appearances playing themselves.

Meanwhile one of the dustmen pursues a romance with a housemaid he has met on his round. Remake of a 1936 film of the same title which had also been directed by Maclean Rogers. Wally Patch who had written and starred in the earlier film, appears in a small role in the remake.

A television dramatization based on the life and work of Florence Nightingale. The story, set in 1856, relates the incidents in her life following the war in the Crimea, where she had gained such fame that her name was virtually a household word.
