Muslim prince Ali and Georgian aristocrat Nino have grown up in the Russian province of Azerbaijan. Their tragic love story sees the outbreak of the First World War and the world’s struggle for Baku’s oil. Ultimately they must choose to fight for their country’s independence or for each other.

The film revolves around the tragic events of 1992, where a maniac in the forest brutally murders nine individuals, with only one girl managing to survive. Set 24 years later, the story revisits these haunting events, exploring the eternal battle between good and evil while delving into the psychological impact of past traumas on human lives.
