Haydn's oratario "The Creation", by La Fura dels Baus company. Recorded at the Seine Musicale.
Haydn’s Missa in tempore belli is also known as the Paukenmesse (kettledrum mass) because of its dramatic use of timpani. Responding to the work's innate theatricality, Dutch National Opera presents the mass in a fully-staged performance. Director Barbora Horáková reveals the flipside of the unfaltering faith that runs throughout Haydn’s music, poignantly portraying individuals who suffer under the heavy burden of a narrow-minded ideology.
The Radio France philarmonic orchestra plays the two recurring themes in "Barry Lyndon". A bewitching travel into music-loving Kubrick's universe.
Drama about a family going through a crisis during the Easter weekend.
The film is dedicated to the events of the early eighteenth century, the time of Hetman Ivan Mazepa.
Haydn's oratorio The Creation, the first public performance of which took place in 1799 in Vienna's old Burgtheater, is one of the peak works of classical art; it reflects the spirit of Goethe's time - the oneness of man with his world, the reverence for the mighty cosmos of nature, which is considered to have been created by a divine authority and the crowning glory of which man appears.
