A woman strong enough to take charge of a major corporation when her husband backs away, must nevertheless face an even greater challenge when she is forced to come to terms with the horribly tragic past that she has hidden all of her life.

A rowdy pro-wrestler, struggling to make ends meet, agrees to fill in as a last-minute replacement for his girlfriend's well-paying babysitting job. Upon arriving at the secluded family home, he meets the precocious 10-year-old Grace. What starts off as a quiet night of pizza and video games quickly spirals into bloody, violent chaos as Tom and Grace find themselves fighting for their lives when an otherworldly cult of masked intruders descend on the home.

April returns home to Toronto after traveling and working abroad for several years to help her sister, Sara, care for their mother who is facing health problems. Upon April's return, she literally unearths old family secrets that threaten the gentle balance of home. Sara, who is studying the music of french composer Erik Satie, befriends a homeless man Erik who may have a connection to her mother's romantic past, while April equivocates on a marriage proposal from her long distance boyfriend she met on her travels, Oscar. The story culminates on the eve of their mother's birthday dinner, when Oscar arrives unannounced from Argentina and Sara's homeless friend shows up for the celebration.
