Kirill Velev, a partisan and communist, committed suicide after the failure of an anti-fascist underground group. It happened in the forty-fourth. And in 1951, the stubborn facts closed in an inexorable chain and testified: the commander of the partisan group Walter was given to the Gestapovs by Kirill Velev. This is the verdict of the people's tribunal, not subject to appeal. The accused did not appear at the trial.

The famous violinist Dorothy Lambert arrives in Bulgaria. She is accompanied by her manager Ted Smiles. The Bulgarian Intelligence Service receives an encrypted message that an agent codenamed Dolly will attempt to contact the chief of residence of a foreign intelligence agency in Bulgaria.

Boris Morev dreams of money and power, he’ll do everything to reach the top, including leaving his beloved Irina, to marry the daughter of the local tobacco factory owner. He ropes Irina back into his life, first as a mistress and later as his second wife, but his ambitions still come first as he plans on emerging as the biggest tobacco seller once the war is over. Irina’s love for Boris is fading and she finds a lover in one of the Germans Boris is trying to strike a deal with. Set against the backdrop of World War II and communist partisans fighting against the Nazi-allied Bulgarian monarchy, the film is a screen adaptation of the Bulgarian classic novel "Tobacco" released in 1954.

Anthology film based on six short stories by writer Elin Pelin. At the end of a market day, Stoyan learns that after ten years of marriage he has a son. Leaving the inn with his wife Penka, they find a baby girl thrown into their cart. There is no end to the poor man's joy. She too will be raised. Drought kills the land and the people. Grandfather Korchan and Lazar Dabaka decide to build a windmill. Lazar and his bride are traveling by cart to visit their godparents. They spend an unforgettable night under the starry sky.

Three young men, who have become friends while doing their national service, make their way in the world.

Mityo Ganev is a leader of the armed bandits. The authorities accuse the Communists of his robberies. The detachment commander, Chalaka, and Mityo Ganev have a meeting but fail to reach an agreement. The police burn out Mityo's house and send his mother into internal exile. Chalaka cuts him off from his logistical support base. Mityo agrees to join the partisan detachment. Mityo and Velyo hold up the paymaster of the army garrison. When they take the money, Mityo wants to give it to the family of the exiles. Enraged, Velyo hands the detachment over to the Colonel. Mityo kills the traitor. The police and he army launch a major operation against the partisans. In a fierce battle, Chalaka leads the detachment out of encirclement while Mityo covers their retreat. A bullet hits him.

Constantinople, 1883. During an outing to the Black Island Edith, the adopted daughter of the French ambassador, is saved by Kalin the Eagle. She learns that he is a Bulgarian revolutionary from the April Uprising of 1876. With her help Kalin the Eagle escapes and returns to the liberated Bulgaria, where he is drawn to the socialist movement. Edith finds out that Kalin is in fact her father, and sets out in search of him. Kalin the Eagle is notable as the first movie made by the nationalized film industry after World War II in the newly formed People's Republic of Bulgaria.

After the civil war in Russia, white guard officer Aleksey emigrates to Bulgaria.
