More than 50 years back in a stony set of a remote mountainous village somewhere in Tajikistan the lovers called Shams and Mekhri traveled. Mekhri pulled by a transient eclipse broke an oath of marital faithfulness that overnight transformed Sham's existence into a farcical puppet show, leading to a murder of his spouse.

Follows the construction of the Fergana Canal, which employed 170 thousand people, and Usman Yusupov was given a very specific task - in 45 days, a 270-kilometer-long canal should provide water to the cotton fields.

Investigating the murder, a police officer comes across a circus performer who has a plan for a secret cave where, according to rumors, the valuables of Kurbashi Gayib-bek were hidden in the twenties.
