The film follows a powerful and cruel family whose oppression makes life unbearable for the villagers. After the family’s heir commits a grave crime, a woman places a curse on the household, setting in motion a chain of events that leads to the family’s complete downfall. The film became Bhatti Pictures’ first Diamond Jubilee success, inspired Maula Jatt, and earned Aliya Begum the Nigar Award for Best Actress.
In the shadow of the 1947 Partition, the lifelong bonds of a peaceful Punjabi community are shattered by rising communal violence. As borders are drawn in blood, a petty troublemaker is forced to confront his own humanity in a desperate search for redemption.
