Erika, a dancer without a gig, helps out at her brother's gas station. She's immediately courted by several men. Her favorite is the nephew of a quirky, old antique dealer. But the dealer refuses to give his nephew his permission to marry him. So Erika turns the tables and charms her uncle until he finally understands that his nephew is in love with her.
Captain Harms still suffers from the bomb attack on his ship. He can not put up with sitting on land, but is afraid of take to the sea. Slowly he is becoming more and more frustrated and gradually falls into alcohol addiction.
The formerly wealthy Baron Carl Erich von Wenden is desperate. His debts are out of control and he is forced to give up everything he owns. Since he doesn’t want to burden his daughter Rosy with all of this, he tells her he’ll take a pleasure trip with her … in truth, however, he has to work as an assistant waiter in the evenings, while Rosy stays in the hotel.
