The time is the French Revolution; the place is the village of Travers, ensconsed in neutral Switzerland. Prussian aesthete Herman Beyer is on the verge of divorcing wife Corinna Harfouch. Radical writer Uwe Kokisch, Corinna's lover, hopes to find a way of smoothing out animosities. What follows, however, is a nonstop drinking binge. The film subliminally addresses the then-prevalent issue of a divided Germany. Whether or not it succeeds is unimportant; Treffen in Travers (Reunion in Travers) has proven to be a crowd pleaser wherever it has been shown.
The beautiful Emma is not only a notorious kleptomaniac, but also walking proof of the chaos theory: although she usually only has good things in mind, her life is a trail of destruction. When she is no longer even wanted in prison, Franz Berger has to deal with Emma. In no time at all, the life of the unfortunate probation officer resembles a shambles: In no time at all, he loses his wife, house, car and job. Stefan Ahrens works very successfully as a tax consultant. One day at a wedding he meets the attractive tax official Ulrike Stechlin, with whom he immediately falls in love. Unfortunately, the two are unable to exchange addresses and only meet again a few weeks later... Stefan Ahrens represents his client Adele Auerwald, whose hotel is undergoing a tax audit, which Ulrike is in charge of. The conflict of interest also causes friction in the private sphere and it takes quite a long time for Stefan and Ulrike to get closer again... Normally you don't kiss public prosecutors, but in this lively comedy the same applies to tax officials: great entertainment for the whole family!
In East Berlin in the late 70s, two boys meet one evening in a disco: Thomas, who is from a working class family and is doing an apprenticeship, and Michael, a 16-year-old school pupil from an educated middle-class family. They both miss the tram home and walk together instead, ending up at Michael’s house where they discuss God and the world into the early hours. Following this encounter the two boys enter into an unusual friendship, united by their mutual desire to get away from the phoniness, the limitations and the restrictions of their parents and of society.
This TV movie focuses on an average East German citizen, who accidentally becomes a Cold War victim. Shortly before his wedding day, East German Stephan Busemann goes to West Germany to attend his brother Hubert's fiftieth birthday. At the same time, his son Martin and his daughter-in-law Bettina flee their communist home country in a balloon, what Stephan didn't know. As the East Germans believe he helped them to escape, he isn't allowed to return, so Martin writes a letter to the country's leader Erich Honecker. However, now the West Germans think that Stephan is a spy.
