A painter is in love with a girl he suspects to be a kept woman when he sees her in the arms of an old gentleman.

Billy Forster, a dishwasher, dreams of becoming a hero. One day, he leaves Hollywood for Texas, where he is soon hired as a ranch hand by Tom Spielman.
