George Beban plays feisty Italian immigrant Luigi Riccardo, the eternal thorn in the side of New York political boss Regan (H.B. Carpenter). Fed up with Riccardo's interference in his graft-grabbing, Regan pulls a few strings and arranges for Riccardo and his family to be shipped back to Europe. But our hero's cause is championed by muckraking newspaper reporter Bump Rundle (Raymond Hatton), who takes on and exposes the Regan political machine.

A Hollywood biographical film about a survivor's experience of the Armenian Genocide. Arshaluys (Aurora) Mardiganian plays herself in the film which is based on her published memoirs. It is thought to be the first film about made about genocide. All known complete copies of the film have been lost. A restored and edited 24-minute segment of the historic motion picture was released in 2009 by the Armenian Genocide Resource Center of Northern California. It is based on a rare surviving reel of film edited in Soviet Armenia.

When the Civil War was declared, it caused great consternation in the home of John Wilson, as he was of Southern birth, while his wife was a Northern woman, and she favored the Federal cause.

Happy in her devotion to her unfortunate sister and the promise of honest love that had come into her life, the girl was perhaps blind to true values. No doubt the old antique dealer was prejudiced against his junior clerk. After frequent shortages, the clerk's visit to the gambling house was reported by the detective and he was discharged. In truth, he had gone to find the senior clerk, who owed him money which he needed for his mother, hovering close to the edge of life. By sharp detective work, the designs of the senior clerk were frustrated.

A girl who works in a textile mill suffers unwanted advances from her boss. Her boyfriend, who also works there, sees it and knocks the boss down. In retaliation, the boss hires two thugs to beat up the boyfriend, but he outwits them. Instead, the boss fires him. As the boss is forcing his attentions on the girl again, a fire breaks out in the mill...

Margery Carew and her widowed sister, Anna Prentice, find work in a brokerage firm, James Gray, the junior partner, soon falls in love with Margery, while his boss, William Cleves, does his best to seduce Anna. In fighting off William's advances, Anna kills him, but Margery, hoping to protect Anna's child, takes the blame and then escapes to the West, after which she gets married and begins a new life. Following a lengthy search, the police manage to track her down, but Margery still refuses to save herself by telling the truth about the murder, even though Anna and her child died several years before in a car crash. Finally, however, because he still loves her and because he has been stricken by a deadly disease that will kill him in a few months, James confesses to the murder, thereby freeing Margery to return to her husband.

The story centers on a gregarious but rather undependable man whose attentions to a young gypsy woman lead to complications for them both.
