Halit Refiğ (5 March 1934 – 11 October 2009) was a Turkish film director, film producer, screenwriter and writer. He made around sixty films, including feature films, documentaries and TV serials. He is considered to be the pioneer of the National Cinema movement and the initiator of the production of TV serials in Turkey.

Remake, Remix, Rip-Off: About Copy Culture & Turkish Pop Cinema
Turkey in the 1960s and 1970s was one of the biggest producers of film in the world. In order to keep up with the demand, screenwriters and directors were copying scripts and remaking movies from all over the world. This documentary visits the fastest working directors, the most practical cameramen and the most hardheaded actors to have a closer look into the country's tumultuous history of movie making.

Burhan works as a driver at the factory where his father works. He is also preparing to marry Zehra, one of the factory workers. Zehra's brother Hüsnü and the factory accountant Namık hatch a plan to rob the factory. They decide to rob the factory's treasurer. They agree with two more workers from the factory to help them. During the robbery, something goes wrong. Hüsnü kills the treasurer and one of the workers and escapes. Nazif Usta, who was at the factory at the time, is arrested at the scene and sentenced to death in court. However, Burhan will try to find the culprits to save his father.

Nazmi is a young man who works as a doctor in Mardin. One day, he learns that there has been a mass poisoning in a nearby village, so he goes there to treat the people and investigate the matter. Upon investigating the incident, Nazmi discovers that the poisoning was caused by the river water. The waste from Zülfü Ağa, one of the city's wealthy residents, is being dumped into the river, which has caused the poisoning. Nazmi decides to report the incident. Although Zülfü Ağa and the mayor try to convince Nazmi not to file a complaint, Nazmi reports the situation to the prosecutor. After Nazmi's complaint leads to the closure of his factory, Zülfü Ağa decides to take revenge on Nazmi for ruining his business.

White Death
Meral is a show girl and drug addict and Yilmaz is a handsome police chief who fights against drug dealers. The tragic reality of the glamorous show world is revealed in the film's story. Meral's boss Haci wants her to spy on Yilmaz. However Meral and Yilmaz fall in love with each other. They work cooperatively and in a police operation headed by Yilmaz Haci and his men are caught wounded, but Meral gets shot.

The film tells the love story between an escaped convict and the daughter of a famous businessman. Zeynep is the daughter of a well-known businessman. She is returning from vacation with her fiancé Tarık. A prison transport vehicle carrying prisoners is involved in an accident on the road. A group of prisoners who survive the accident escape. They stop the car of the young couple they encounter on the road. They kill Tarık and kidnap Zeynep. One of the prisoners, Mehmet, takes the young woman under his protection from his friends. Thus begins their relationship, which eventually turns into love.

Kudret is a young man who earns his living performing stunts on a motorcycle. He wants to marry Emel, but standing between them is Emel's mother, Selma. From then on, events unfold in a manner reminiscent of The Count of Monte Cristo. Kudret plans an escape with a fellow inmate he has befriended behind bars. During this time, he learns the location of a large fortune from his friend. However, during the escape, Kudret loses his friend. Betrayed, slandered, and with his pride shattered, Kudret returns to seek revenge.

Unlike all other films of Cuneyt Arkin, this film picture is taken by a highly skilled team with quite a lot of preparations. The scenario is a fairy tale which is pleasantly supported by some high quality visual effects (prepared in a visual lab in England). The scenes are all supported with high quality decorations of the old times of the tale. Cuneyt Arkin with his athletic capabilities enables the hero of this tale to be brought to life in his act. It is really unlucky for the film team to prepare such a good film after a series of junk films which directly reduced the interest to this high quality film.
