Our story follows Abdallah and his fight for survival in one of the most toxic places on earth, Agbogbloshie, Ghana. Beyond the deadly fumes of the electronic dump and scrapyard, lies a community that wins his heart. Abdallah forms a special bond with Kofi and Lartey, two boys who look to Abdallah for dreams of a life beyond the dump.

Hilda faces twilight years of loneliness and isolation, spending periods normally devoted to happiness and reconciliation in solitude. Whilst cleaning out her deceased husband’s belonging’s she unearths a buried secret, leading to a confrontation with her past and an opportunity to escape solitude and live a life she denied herself.

Actually, we wanted to make a different film, but due to certain circumstances and a change in legislation, we were unable to continue our journey and got stuck in Helsinki. Sara was reminded of many similar situations in her life where she faced rejection and was not allowed to do certain things, so we decided to summarize some examples and combine documentary and animation to represent what so many BIPOC people experience (BIPOC = Black People, Indigenous People, and People of Color). Finding your place in life is a challenge in itself. However, being rejected based on external traits is devastating. By transforming these very traits into superpowers, you can reclaim your life and self-worth, stand up for yourself, and become part of a society.
