Sveppi and Villi go on summer holiday to an old country hotel. Soon they realize a dark and beautiful secret concerning a ghost, a secret spell and a grumpy hotel manager.
Gói is sent by his mother to market to sell their only cow, Old Skjölda, but trades her for three “magic beans” instead. Overnight, the beans grow into a towering stalk leading to a giant’s castle in the clouds. Gói climbs up, outwits the sleeping giant, and returns home with treasures, among them a hen that lays golden eggs and a self-playing harp. His adventure restores his family’s fortune and transforms their humble home into a place of wonder.
