American Sasquatch' isn't your typical tour documentary; it's a raw, gonzo-style film capturing the Welsh rock band Super Furry Animals. Providing an insider's perspective, it showcases the band's American tours, TV appearances, and recording sessions from 2002 to 2004, including the making of "Phantom Power."

The documentary centers on Gruff Rhys's quest to meet up with his lost long Patagonian uncle, musician René Griffiths.

Together, over a period of several months, they pursue a mutual sexual passion whose inevitable stages unfold in counterpoint to nine live-concert songs.

In late 2016, musician, producer and writer Gruff Rhys joined a group of British and Russian artists as they embarked on a journey from Moscow to the far east of Siberia. Capturing the journey on tape, the Welshman’s short film, The History of Nails—commissioned by the British Council—stops by key moments of twentieth-century Russian life, from the October Revolution through to communism and the Futurist movement, all to the sounds of a drone score.
