A middle school teacher, Jinno, is friends with a young couple that is about to have a baby. But on the eve of the birth, the father, Kimura, disappears. Then, a hired private detective appears and ask Jinno's help to find Kimura.

A neighbor dies when potted flowers fall from a balcony of an apartment complex. A man whose father suffers from dementia begins to question if it really was an accident.

Seizo, a doctor, and his beautiful younger wife, Reiko. At first glance, they appear to be a respectable and amicable couple, but Seizo suspects that Reiko has a young lover. One day, the couple goes to see a new Noh play, "The Curse of Ondine," organized by a medical association. At the venue, Reiko catches the attention of a man, and even the young man at the reception desk gives her a heated look. "Reiko says, "Noh is boring," but Seizo warns her not to fall asleep, since the audience is all related. However, when the Noh play begins and Reiko looks at Seizo, she finds that he is asleep. From this point on, the world of death in the Noh play and the world of life in which the two people exist become parallel. Reality and unreality intersect as if the two are acting out a Noh play, and the secrets hidden in their daily lives begin to seep out.

Burdened by a promise to his father, the loss of his work, and his strained relationship with his half-brother Shigekazu (Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi) of the Aoi-kai, Shinichi heads to Kanto to fight back. Determined to live with pride, Shinichi’s resolve draws a group of unique, fearless men around him. Together, they ignite a fierce yakuza battle that marks the beginning of an epic underworld saga.

To crush the Kanto-based Aoi-kai aiming for national domination, Shinichi Koda (ISSA), president of Koda Construction, heads from Nagano to Tokyo. At the request of Asagiri (TJ Kayama), he helps the former Hanazono Union leader, now on the run from the Aoi-kai. Shinichi’s former mentor, Takeharu Mori (Tetsu Watanabe), president of Mori Industries, is being driven to the brink of bankruptcy due to an eviction dispute with the Aoi-kai. Seeking a trigger to start the fight, Shinichi asks Mori for his cooperation. At last, the ten brave men are assembled. With his father's banner—the Koda-gumi—raised high, Shinichi leads them into a fierce war against the mighty Aoi-kai. "Now, brave men... it's time to rise."

Three engineers cannot make a robot work in time for a science show, and hire a man to inhabit the robot's shell to save their jobs. The robot's performance at the show attracts media attention and scrutiny from a science student.
